welcome to the monthly nu’s: a little collection of all the things i’ve been absorbing over the past few weeks, including (but not limited to) books i read, media i consumed, products i purchased, recipes i tried, and links i loved. so grab a drink and/or snack, and enjoy this edition of the monthly nu’s.
ngl, march felt long. but that doesn’t necessarily mean it was bad. it was actually quite decent. the time change means i’m still catching up on sleep, but the extra daylight makes up for it. it’s also warm enough to want to get out of the house, so i fully used that to my advantage this month, and went to a couple different events (including a craft club and a women’s running panel!). the pollen has been absolutely insane; we hit the highest pollen count in the history of georgia yesterday (like i said, insane!). but with some claritin and our vintage (ie. 2020) face masks, we’ll make it through. 💪🏾😷
✨ on my radar: books, shows, & movies
reading 📚: fervent by priscilla shirer
watching 📺: started two of my favorite childhood shows (take the word “childhood” lightly here pls): reba (van montgomery is an actual icon) and fresh prince of bel air (i completely forgot how hilarious will smith is in this show); i’m also catching up on abbott elementary (and i received a mild spoiler, not too much tea, just that i’m not gonna be happy about something that happens at the end of the season, so we’ll see). i also watched 27 dresses for the first time in years. there’s something about early 2000s romcoms ❤️.
i also just started season 4 of the chosen a couple weeks ago, and i’m nearly finished but definitely not ready for season 5, which partially came out in theaters this weekend. the 5th season is a tense one and while i know what’s gonna go down because it’s in the Bible lol, i also know that regardless, i’m gonna be a complete mess 😪.
❤️ on my love list (aka monthly favorites)
eating 🍲: i considered writing a whole post about what i’ve been cooking lately (i’m in my chef era), buuut we’ll save that for another day, potentially. but let’s condense it for today:
overnight oats w/yogurt (specifically this yogurt),
stuffed dates w/pb & dark chocolate chips,
sauces — a fantastic addition to nearly every dish (my favorite is yum yum sauce, whyyy didn’t anyone tell me about it sooner??)
i made meatloaf-inspired meatballs and discovered that the flavors I. meatloaf are truly only: ketchup + worcestershire sauce + brown sugar (who woulda thought?)
wearing 👟: these running sneaks, also these sneakers (which i just received in the mail, but they look promising), and a permanent bracelet from weld atl (permanent jewelry is a game-changer!)
loving 💓: this cleansing balm, lighting candles, and treadmill walks paired w/youtube vlogs (specifically her vlogs).

💭 on my mind
honestly, what hasn’t been on my mind? my thoughts tend to roam, in good seasons and bad alike. and if i’m being honest, those thoughts typically aren’t the most positive. and i’ve discovered why: because i allow every single thought into my brain. but i’m learning that i don’t have to do that. our thoughts can and should be taken ahold of and observed. if that sounds complicated, here’s a simpler way to put it: think about what you’re thinking about. then revise your thoughts as needed. (i feel like this deserves a whole post, so stayed tuned for that 😉).
thanks for reading. talk to ya soon,
